As I am in the midst of hurrying from task to task, desperately trying to complete everything on my list, I start to feel like I am out of my body. I find myself looking at the time and wondering how I can do it all. Yes I do this too! Then I remind my self, breathe! Meditate! And let go! It’s OK everything is OK, there is always a solution, even if it doesn’t seem that way when you are in the middle of the problem or frenzy. When I take time to step away, meditate, take a mind/body class like yoga, Pilates or barre, I am able to focus and come up with a way to get things done. Taking the time to connect to myself helps me put things into perspective. Do you take anytime to yourself during this busy time? I promise you taking a few minutes for yourself everyday will give your more joy, clarity and allow you to experience life in a deeper more meaningful way.
During the cusp of the New Year, it is our cultural norm to look at our lives and think about what we want and want to change. We start to think about the year that is almost done, reflect on how fast time is going by and examine what we want to do differently each year. When you are in a state of calm, clarity and connection with yourself, take the time to ask yourself “What do I REALLY want?” (I would suggest doing this after some self-care J )We are coming the end of 2014; the New Year is an opportunity to embark on your new journey, to change your perspective, to take time for yourself. It all depends on what you really want, not what others tell you that you should want. Try to quiet the external “shoulds” the voices that influence you. My invitation to you is to take some time in the middle of the frenzy to center yourself and think about what you really want in your life. When it is starting to become clear, you can now take the first steps to fulfill your desire to get what you really want. What can you do differently this year to fulfill your desire or reach your goal? Can you read a book, take a course; get a friend to help you?
Your “resolutions” this year don’t have to fall victim to your regular habits by February. Enjoy this time with your loved ones, take time for yourself, and enjoy the festivities. Stay tuned next year for more topics and reminders of ways to live your bliss! I hope you have benefited from my past blog posts… Cheers!
