Title: Creating Your Aligned Vision for 2024: A Soulful Entrepreneur’s Guide
Greetings, fellow soulful entrepreneurs! Welcome to the Soulful Entrepreneurs Club podcast, where we aim to empower spiritually led businesses to run purposeful and profitable ventures aligned with their true selves. I’m Kavita Melwani, a master certified success and business coach with two decades of entrepreneurial experience and almost a decade as a coach. Today, I am thrilled to guide you through the process of setting your vision for the year ahead, ensuring it resonates with your soulful essence and paves the path to a magnificently fulfilling 2024.
In our endeavor to navigate the journey ahead, it’s essential to start by envisioning the primary energy that you want to embody at the end of the upcoming year. What is the core intention that you wish to manifest by the close of 2024? This intention could be captured in a couple of paragraphs or condensed into a single powerful sentence. Once you have articulated this vision, select a word that encapsulates this aspirational energy. Let this word resonate within you and become a beacon of focus and inspiration.
Setting goals from your vision is crucial, and it is equally important to document them. Research has shown that individuals are more likely to achieve their goals when they are written down. So, take the time to pen down your vision for your business, your goals for the upcoming year, and how they align with your chosen word of the year. It’s also beneficial to break down these goals by quarter and month. This granular approach allows for a clear understanding of the steps required to progress and achieve your desired outcomes.
While it’s essential to dream big, it’s equally vital to set achievable milestones. Often, the grand visions we hold may take multiple years to fully materialize. By breaking down goals into manageable monthly targets and pinpointing the tasks needed to reach them, we can bridge the gap between aspiration and accomplishment. It’s imperative to strike a balance between a bold vision and setting realistic goals to prevent self-sabotage and foster continuous progress.
Self-sabotage can manifest in various ways, hindering us from fully realizing our potential. Being aware of our self-imposed limitations and how we may hinder our own progress is crucial in effecting positive change. Through introspection and honest assessment, we can identify our personal challenges and actively work towards overcoming them.
As our journey unfolds, it can be beneficial to create a visual reminder of our goals and aspirations. Vision boards serve as powerful tools to visually manifest our dreams and goals. They help in fostering a deep connection with our aspirations and serve as daily reminders of our vision. Creating an aligned vision board, one that truly resonates with our soulful essence, can further amplify the manifestation of our desires.
In conclusion, as we chart our course for 2024, let us endeavor to create an aligned vision that harmonizes with our soulful purpose. Embrace the energy of your word of the year, set realistic goals, and break them down into actionable steps. Confront self-sabotage with awareness and intention, and consider crafting a visual representation of your vision with an aligned vision board. Together, let us rise up as the leaders we were born to be, empowered by our soulful pursuits and guided by an unwavering commitment to our purpose.
If you resonate with the concepts discussed, I would love to hear your word of the year and how you plan to manifest your aligned vision for 2024. Stay tuned for more empowering insights and strategies to support your journey as a soulful entrepreneur. Until next time, take good care, and may your path be illuminated with purpose. Shine on, my soulful friends!

Analogy for This Episode: Creating Your Aligned Vision for 2024
Setting your vision and goals is like planning a road trip. First, you decide on the feeling you want at the end of the journey – maybe it’s excitement, fulfillment, or joy. This feeling becomes your word of the year, your theme song for the road trip. Then, you map out your goals, which are like the exciting stops along the way – whether it’s visiting a new city or experiencing a breathtaking view. However, you don’t just jot them down and forget. You break them down into monthly and quarterly checkpoints, just like planning to reach certain destinations by certain times. But remember, just like on a road trip, it’s not just about reaching the destinations but also enjoying the ride, the small moments, the serendipitous discoveries. And creating a vision board is like capturing the inspiring postcards and pictures along the journey, reminding you of the beauty and possibilities ahead. So, buckle up, keep your word of the year playing, and enjoy the scenic route to your 2024 destination!

Kavita Melwani [00:01:11]:
Okay, so welcome to the third week of this series on getting you ready for the year ahead. So a couple of weeks ago, I provided you with an abundance visualization so you could activate abundance. And then last week, I discussed how to decide where to invest in your business. And so if you haven’t heard those two episodes, I’m going to encourage you to go back and listen to those. I will have the links also available in the show notes. And so today I am going to talk about setting your vision up for the year ahead. What are some pieces that are really important so that you can stay connected to your vision? So if you were listening last week where I talked about setting goals from your vision, and maybe you grabbed that visualization that I talked about, then this is the next step in that process. And if you haven’t, I have that link available for you today as well.
Kavita Melwani [00:02:15]:
So once you have that visualization, I am going to encourage you to sit down, get away from your computer or tv or anything like that. Maybe even go someplace away from your desk and think about what the energy is, the primary energy that you want to feel at the end of next year, what is that primary intention that you have? What do you want to feel at the end of 2024? And that is going to be once you have that clear, and maybe it’s going to be two paragraphs, or maybe it’s just a sentence. So whatever comes through, I want you to pick a word that encompasses that. And you can use the thesaurus. You can google that if you want to use AI and taking what you’ve written and asking what a word is that encompasses that. So that will be your word of the year. Having a word of the year is a really succinct way to connect with what you want to create and the energy of what you want to create. And you can have this word up.
Kavita Melwani [00:03:19]:
I encourage you to have it written, repeat it, share it with people, because now you’re already activating the energy of your word of the year. Okay? And so once you have that word of the year, of the energy of what you want to create, what is that vision? What are those goals that you have? Right. And so if you’ve already kind of set those goals and you have that vision, then writing them down is really important. A lot of times people will say, well, I know I want to do this, this and this. I know what I want to create, but they haven’t written them down. There are studies and I don’t remember exactly which one I’m referring to that show that writing your goals down, you’re more likely to achieve them. Right. Just taking this time to say, this is my vision for next year and beyond, maybe what is your vision for your business? And what is your vision for next year connected to your word of the year? And then what are the goals that you have for each areas? And then I’m going to encourage you to break it down by quarter and by month, okay? Because what I’ve seen is most of the time, people create these huge goals for the year, and sometimes they create new resolutions and they’re very big.
Kavita Melwani [00:04:36]:
Kavita Melwani [00:04:36]:
And they’re expecting this to happen in the next year. But actually most of the things that they want to create will most likely take multiple years. And so they set these big visions and they set these goals and then they may not achieve them and they feel defeated and they’re like, what’s the point? Right? So I don’t want that to happen for you. If you really break down what your goals are and what you would like to accomplish each month for the upcoming year, and then you can even go further and see what tasks you need to do to reach your goals. And then, like I said last time, where do you need to invest in order to support you in getting to those goals as well? You can start to see what is possible. Right? Like, what is it that you can actually do each month? And when you have that clarity, you can maybe edit a little bit. Now, I’m not telling you not to have a big vision, okay? But there’s a balance between having a big vision and a bold vision, a brilliant vision, and setting a vision so out of reach that the chances of you actually reaching that goal and creating that vision is small and it’s a way of sabotage. So I want you to think bigger than what you think is possible.
Kavita Melwani [00:05:58]:
That’s so important. And also set those achievable milestones. Set those goals for yourself, set the tasks. It’s really important to be granular and break things down a little bit. Just having a big vision is great, but if you’re not taking the steps to achieve those vision, of course with faith and with trust that the universe will also move towards you. If you take steps, then steps will be brought towards you. You’re not alone. You are supported and guided, and we’re not going to just lock ourselves in our house and expect things to happen.
Kavita Melwani [00:06:38]:
Kavita Melwani [00:06:38]:
So spending the time to actually take those steps and looking back and being honest with yourself if you’ve actually done it, because I know that a lot of times, one of the things that I remember really early on in my business, I was working with a coach and she had a process to create steps. Okay? So these were the steps we were going to take for the next few months. Okay. I think we did it. I’m trying to remember, but I think it was quarterly. So I set goals, I did all the tasks, and I came back and I said I did everything. I’m just not getting the results. And so when we really looked at what I was doing, I was doing it.
Kavita Melwani [00:07:20]:
I was checking things off the list because I’m really good at checking things off. Like, if I say I’m going to do something, it will most likely get done. It’s rare that I don’t get something done that I say I’m going to do. But sometimes the way I do that, the energy I show up with, the belief that I have that it’s going to work right. So all those things are impacting how I show up. So if I’m posting on social media and in the end I’m like feeling, which I have felt this sometimes, like, well, nobody’s watching anyway. Nobody’s listening, nobody’s watching my reels, then the way that I’m going to do that and show up is not going to be motivated, excited. It’s not going to be fulfilling my purpose.
Kavita Melwani [00:08:05]:
It’s going to feel like just something I needed to get done. So I know, and I recognize that that is one of the things that I do is that I just get things done sometimes. But I don’t do it in an aligned way. I don’t do it where I’ve looked at my mindset looked at my actions, look what I actually believe and feel behind that. And so that’s my challenge. My challenge is not that I don’t get things done. My challenge is how I can end up sometimes doing them. So what is it for you? What is your challenge? It’s really important for you to understand how you sabotage, how you stop yourself and how you get in your own way, because if you don’t know what that is, then you can’t change it.
Kavita Melwani [00:08:45]:
Right? So once I had this awareness, I’m definitely more conscious of how I show up and how I do things. I work on my thoughts and my feelings. I feel what I want to feel, and I don’t always do it. Sometimes I’m just so busy and I’m just doing thing to thing and then I don’t get the results and I’m like, I wonder what’s happening. Oh, yeah, there’s the thing again. There’s my thing of just getting things done so I’m able to stop myself and correct what I’m doing. I’m able to work on that, do that inner work that’s so necessary and then move forward differently. So just a summary for you today of what we talked about.
Kavita Melwani [00:09:31]:
So, setting your vision, and once you have kind of that vision of what you want to feel at the end of the year, what is that feeling that you want? And you’ve written that out. Picking a word, that word of the year and continuing to remind yourself of that word. Setting your goals and breaking them down monthly and having a vision. Now there’s a bonus, and the bonus is creating something visual to remind you of these goals. And that is a vision board for me. I love creating vision boards. Some years I have lots of resistance to do it, but whenever I do, I’m reminded and I put it up and I look at it every day. It is creating that connection with my mind that I can create what I want in my life as long as I’m willing to take the steps.
Kavita Melwani [00:10:22]:
Okay. And so if you want to create a vision board, I have a vision board workshop course that can help you create an aligned vision board. Because a really powerful vision board isn’t just about slapping down a bunch of pictures on a poster board. Sure, that’s better than not doing anything. So if you’ve done that, great. But if you want to create a board that’s really aligned, then my course is available and we have a discount code which will be in the show notes so that you can grab that course and you’ll be able to create an aligned vision board, and so that kind of wraps all the things together to get you ready for a wonderful 2024. Okay. So I hope that this was helpful.
Kavita Melwani [00:11:11]:
I’d love to hear your word of the year if you want to share. And in the meantime, I look forward to continuing to connect with you and share whatever I can to support you in creating your soulful business. Until next time, take good care. Bye.
